Women In Construction Week 2022
We are excited to partner with our friends at Baker Roofing to celebrate Women in Construction Week, which aims to help emphasize the growing role of women in our industry! With women comprising only 10.9% of all people working in construction (and accounting for only one out of every 100 employees in the field), it’s more important than ever to recognize those who are paving the way and highlight opportunities for the next generation of women to get involved. We are proud to be part of an industry and a community that is continuously working to build a more diverse, inclusive workforce. This wouldn’t be possible without the determination of so many incredible and talented women, including those who are part of our Barringer Family!
To kick off our celebrations, we spoke with Megan Sommer (Superintendent, Barringer Construction) and Francisca Mejia (Project Engineer, Baker Roofing), about what it means to them to be two of many incredible women who are moving mountains for our industry.
