Top Interior/Space Build-Out Project Winners: Vontier at Wade Park Vontier, a global industrial technology company that focuses on transportation and mobility solutions, split away from Washington state-based Fortive Corp. and became a standalone company in 2020. Vontier has five offices around the country with 150 international locations and more than 8,300 global team members. But its headquarters — and about 100 employees — is in Raleigh at 5438 Wade Park Blvd. Vontier’s new office development was completed despite Covid-19 and its challenges. Vontier opted to move forward, putting safety precautions in place and undergoing a hiring spree during a time others were reducing staff sizes. The 36,000-square-foot office started as a shell space on the top floor of a newly constructed tower. The upfitting proved to be an opportunity to create its new identity as one where employees can collaborate, innovate and thrive. Employees and visitors are greeted by an open lobby area with exposed ceilings and sleek decor with glass signage. The new space consists of a mix of private offices, cubicles and collaborative workspaces to encourage employees to work in a way that is most conducive to them. Vontier seeks a family-oriented, inclusive culture and an accent wall displays that mission with drawings created by employee’s children. Vontier expects to emulate this workplace model at other locations. KEY PROJECT PLAYERS General Contractor: Barringer Construction Architect: RATIO Design
