The Centurion Lounge by American Express at Charlotte Douglas International Airport was recently completed. At 13,000 square feet and a capacity for more than 250 travelers, the lounge is one of the largest in the Centurion series. This was an interior upfit of a first-generation space that included high-end finishes, adding multiple lounge areas, a bar and a commercial kitchen. Site logistics and planning were critical as each team member had to be cleared with a Federal background check and badged per CDIA and TSA standards. This project also required coordination with three other General Contractors sharing the same loading dock as other teams were completing an upfit of the food court below. The lounge required 30 weeks of construction to complete.
