As the new headquarters for Momentive, this project encompassed a build back of all lab space and a re-work of some of the interior offices for a tire testing facility. This project became two projects simultaneously; origin site and destination site. Major milestone’s included replacing all fourteen roof top HVAC units and reworking 90% of all ductwork, installing a new 1200A switch gear and separate large sub electrical panels for relocated equipment, the installation of a new transformer with main power transfer from Duke Energy and moving all office, sensitive lab equipment, and large heavy manufacturing equipment to the destination site. Parallel to construction progress, the origin facility was meticulously examined and dismantled by each trade to determine all rough in requirements necessary for the transplant of 165 pieces of equipment at the destination site; hot water, cold water, compressed air, floor drain, air intake, exhaust hoods/fans, vent, nitrogen, low voltage, etc. This project also encompassed strict safety guidelines required by Momentive.
