Laura Williams-Tracy – October 2022
Reproductive Specialists of the Carolinas set out to recreate the traditional patient experience with its new, 11,000-square-foot medical office in midtown. Seeking treatment for fertility challenges can leave patients feeling vulnerable. The locally owned and operated practice set out to disrupt the cold and sterile stereotype surrounding modern fertility science and instead create an environment where patients can feel comfortable receiving professional, personalized care.
Through intentional design elements inspired by and coupled with a patient-centered approach, RSC is transforming a profoundly vulnerable experience into a more open, normalized subject. The spa-like waiting room is not just relaxing; it’s designed to take the patient’s mind off the difficult situation at hand.
From the moment patients enter the waiting room, they feel as though they are in a spa rather than a holding space awaiting service. Private treatment rooms are warmly decorated to become safe spaces for open conversations between patients and providers. The laboratory includes some of the most advanced technology available for IVF treatment.
Dr. Matrika Johnson started Reproductive Specialists of the Carolinas in 2020. The larger office space allows Dr. Johnson to see more patients each week and has welcomed an additional reproductive endocrinologist to the practice.
