A new beginning for Charlotte’s Lower South End neighborhood

As the city of Charlotte continues to grow, the South Boulevard corridor from Uptown Charlotte south sits as one of the most desirable locations for local businesses and walkable retail. Amidst the increasing options of residential and commercial space is LoSo Village – a development near the corner of South Boulevard and Clanton Road comprised of six single-story buildings offering more than 52,000 SF of mixed-use space. Previously a heavily deserted opportunity zone, this adaptive reuse development has been repurposed from two deteriorating buildings into a multitenant parcel featuring a mixture of retail and hospitality spaces.

Building sound environments where uniqueness can thrive

The revitalized space offers a refreshed façade and all new storefronts, resulting in a reworked exterior that seamlessly incorporates the spaces into surrounding buildings. The interior of the buildings was demolished and rebuilt to provide six unique shell spaces for businesses to bring a variety of cuisines and social activities to the area, furthering the goal of becoming one of Charlotte’s newest and most lively social destinations. The design and construction teams worked closely with engineers to ensure the structural integrity of the buildings, helping provide a blank slate for tenants that would offer a plethora of opportunity without compromising quality or design.

A vibrant, mixed-use environment that celebrates local impact

The design intention of this space focused heavily on flexibility and fluidity, creating a blank slate for businesses to transform into a place of their own. The revitalization of LoSo Village is breathing new life into some of Charlotte’s original architecture, allowing for historical elements of the area to shine through in a sea of otherwise new development projects while still providing sought after amenities like refreshed store fronts and outdoor space. With a focus on walkability, the area that would typically be dedicated to parking spots has been transformed into patio space for all tenants allowing generous outdoor space elevated above the street. Additionally, there is a dedicated rideshare drop-off/pick-up space for visitors.
