A modern medical practice offering complete dermatological care in the Triangle

A trusted leader in dermatological care, Blue Ridge Dermatology Associates provides expert, patient-centered treatment in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Born from a desire to better serve varying patient needs, the group relocated its Raleigh, NC practice to The Macon, the Triangle’s new premiere medical building. This new, 15,000-square-foot center offers an array of treatment spaces and capabilities, all thoughtfully designed to reflect BRDA’s commitment to delivering comprehensive and compassionate dermatological care.

The space includes an array of treatment rooms to accommodate various exams and procedures including Mohs surgery and cosmetic treatments.
This interior upfit began before the building core and shell were completed, requiring extensive coordination between multiple contractors and trade partners.

A thoughtful design for efficient, comprehensive care

BRDA’s new facility is an efficient space that can serve dermatological needs from annual skin checks and outpatient Mohs surgery to cosmetic treatments like Botox and chemical peels. Featuring a mix of patient treatment rooms, Mohs surgery rooms, and a small lab space, all room layouts were coordinated for equipment needed for different procedures to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. The space also includes a dedicated employee break area, private offices, a conference room and a spacious patient waiting room with check-in/check-out desks.

Benefiting the client through early engagement

The client engaged our team early in the design process, allowing for continuous budget feedback that enabled real-time decisions on scope and finishes, ultimately minimizing change orders later on. When significant modifications were requested during construction to meet the client’s evolving needs, our team accommodated the changes while keeping the project on schedule.

Implementing a strategic plan to overcome logistical challenges and deliver the project on schedule

This project started while core and shell construction was still underway, which presented several unique challenges that required strategic logistics plans to ensure the project remained on schedule, including coordinating with multiple contractors and trade partners onsite. Additionally, the building’s elevator could not be used for the first two months of the project as the building achieved CO. To maintain workflow, site logistics were modified to accommodate material deliveries via an exterior window.

To celebrate the much-anticipated completion of this project and the grand opening of Blue Ridge Dermatology Associates’ reimagined Raleigh clinic, the client and project team gathered for a ribbon cutting, marking the official grand opening and celebrating the culmination of a collective vision years in the making.
