This 26,000 SF, first generation upfit for Armstrong Transport Group serves as the company’s new global headquarters. Located in the new Vantage Building in South End, the dynamic and energetic workplace was created to excite employees, welcoming them from their old space in the suburbs to their new home in the city.
Armstrong’s new headquarters was strategically designed to emulate elements of transportation and movement, paying homage to the company’s industry. These can be seen at every turn, from the angled wood veneer panels on the ceiling to the multi-directional tiles in the breakroom. Other key design elements include open ceilings to add depth to the space, a large break area, open workspaces and employee game room to encourage camaraderie, and a large board room, private offices and conferences rooms
to offer space to gather and add flexibility to the work environment.
SAVINGS THROUGH VALUE ENGINEERING
This completely custom space is filled with creative elements that reflect Armstrong’s brand. The focal design element is an intricate, origami-like ceiling in the reception area. Originally a $500K piece, the ceiling was able to be redesigned without compromising aesthetic or quality, resulting in a $400,000 savings for the client.
