A reimagined Southeastern hub for a global company

After several years in Charlotte’s South Park neighborhood, global logistics giant DP World set its sights on crafting a fresh workplace experience for its employees. The company relocated to the sixth floor of the newly developed Vantage Towers in South End, offering employees both a larger, more modern workspace and greater access to amenities. The existing office space was entirely gutted and replaced by a state-of-the-art space that combines efficiency with aesthetics.

Where form & function unite

The redesigned space artfully merges city-living with suburban comforts, boasting a relaxed and homey aesthetic while offering metropolitan advantages like proximity to amenities and sweeping views of Uptown. A combination of open workspaces, glass-front offices and a new Muraflex demountable glass wall system in the conference rooms allow for both privacy and collaboration. The centrally located café kitchen area and employee gathering spaces contribute to the client’s vision of an open-concept workplace. Thoughtfully integrated design elements including cool-toned wood tambour paneling, lofty cloud ceilings, and intricate decorative wall coverings bring depth, texture, and sophistication.

With sun-drenched interiors and sleek high-end finishes, DP World’s Charlotte office exemplifies a modern corporate setting designed to energize employees and create a collaborative workspace.

Delivering quality through a design-build approach

This project was completed through a design-build partnership between Barringer, Gensler and DP World, cultivating a hands-on, holistic project approach. Project partners worked together closely to select elements including furniture and furnishings, finishes and materials, and branding and signage placement. This allowed several key design components to be incorporated into the construction design, resulting in streamlined execution and cost-effective solutions for the client.
