Senior Project Manager – Current Opening

The ideal candidate will oversee projects from bidding to execution. You will work with senior management and act as the point of contact for clients

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

A Sr. Project Manager supports and leads the Project Manager, Superintendent and entire project team throughout the construction process by facilitating actions that will complete projects successfully including clear communication of goals and expectations, oversight of the project budget, project schedule, and construction plans, and maintaining positive vendor and client relationships.

  • Understands that managing several projects at the same time is normal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Procore
  • Ability to build and grow client relationships
  • Team player, contributor and leader
  • Great in front of people and in project interviews

Qualifications:

  • Procore certified and extremely proficient with the software
  • Proficiency in Viewpoint setting up and maintaining budgets, change order process
  • Final close out of project within 90 days
  • Negotiation and understanding of owner contract language
  • Understand subcontract language & completing buy-out in a timely manner
  • Provide cost projections monthly
  • Zero Day 2 items - punchlist completed on time
  • Have difficult conversations when needed
  • Handle hard bid pursuits and produce a conceptual budget without assistance
  • Engage with Precon staff and lead the pricing effort when needed
  • Manage the interview presentation for pursuits
  • Keep "Eyes Downfield" to help project teams avoid pitfalls
  • Maintain focus on longer duration jobs
  • Oversee multiple projects & project teams
  • Spend time looking 2-3 years ahead and thinking strategically

Education and Experience:

  • 4 year college degree in a construction related field and/or 8-10+ years of experience in commercial construction management.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret building plans, schedules and product specification sheets, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs, charts, and data tables.
  • Ability to help compile project pricing and track project budgets.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, visually observe and move around the construction site.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk or sit.
  • Must be able to move about freely in an office and construction environment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to work on a computer and to read plans and documents.
  • Distance vision is required to operate vehicles and observe workers at a construction site.

Work Environment:

  • The employee will spend time in an office environment or on indoor and outdoor construction sites with fluctuating temperatures, changes in elevation, occasional dusty conditions, and loud noises over 85 decibels.
