HOSPITALITY

In early 2021, Barringer completed the Phase 2 expansion and renovation of Carmel Country Club, one of Charlotte’s premiere Clubs and event venues.

Project scope included a 21,000 SF expansion of the clubhouse to update and expand the fitness center and locker rooms, as well as grow the Grand and Junior Ballrooms. The expansion also transformed the club’s dining options to include a high-spirited bar area and family-friendly grill room, a sophisticated fine dining space, a comfortable wrap-around outdoor veranda, a specialty coffee shop, and a fast-casual dining area with an open display kitchen.

Alongside this extensive expansion, Barringer also renovated an additional 67,000 SF within the existing clubhouse to create a Class A space. Work included updating existing restroom facilities and adding new ones, revitalizing The Boardroom, Presidents Room, and Founder’s Room to create high-end and functional meeting spaces, and updating the aesthetic in the main lobby by adding muted tones and elegant fixtures.

This job included an extensive finishes package consisting of Parquet and plank Olde Savannah wood flooring, intricate tile, a high-end trim & millwork package, stone, wall covering, and wrought iron railings. The lighting package featured custom chandeliers, pendants, gas lanterns & sconces, as well as state-of-the-art lighting control, AV, and security systems.

In 2021, Carmel was a winner of Charlotte Business Journal’s “Heaviest Hitters” Award, naming it the top new hospitality and entertainment venue in the city.

PHASE ONE RENOVATION – 2015

Six years prior to this Phase 2 expansion, Barringer also completed a 33,000 square foot, multi-phase renovation and exterior addition to the Club’s existing dining room and fitness center. This “Phase 1” interior renovation included extensive coordination between the interior designer and architect; it consisted of a heavy interior trim package, wine cellar addition and complete high-end makeover of the bar, adult dining and fitness center. The structural steel exterior addition is clad with brick masonry and is intended for outdoor dining and celebration. It includes slate tile flooring, a wood burning fireplace, a timber framed vaulted ceiling and an operable glass partition. The fitness center is now a state-of-the-art facility and features all new flooring and equipment.
